Embracing Imperfection delves into the ties between childhood imagination, attachment to landscapes, free play activities, play sculptures, and abstraction in sculpture. Inspired by the snow-covered landscape of Manitoba, the interactive sculptures stand as emblems of liberation and self-discovery, defying conventional standards and embracing imperfections.
Two series of toy-like, interactive sculptures (Playground Family and Dreamy Landscape) present alongside a stop-motion animation (Free Play in the Dreamy Landscape), probing the effects of childhood environments, societal frameworks, and the influence of landscapes on personal perception. It offers a platform for viewers to engage in transformational interaction, prompting them to reflect on their own experiences and embrace the quirks that define authenticity.
